Dr. Buchli joined Pure Protein L.L.C. in 2001 and is currently applying his expertise in Immunology and Biochemistry as the Director of Research. His work is essential to the completion of ongoing research to develop new methodologies and technologies for developing novel soluble HLA proteins for one of the foremost biomedical companies in the country. Dr. Buchli’s past and present work has focused on HLA. The research of HLA is increasingly important to gaining a better understanding and finding improved treatments of infections and diseases including HIV and cancer. His research is also proving beneficial in the area of organ transplantation and blood transfusion. Appointed by the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the approval of the U.S. Department of State, Dr. Buchli serves as the Honorary Consul of Switzerland and is an appointed member of the Oklahoma Governor’s International Team (GIT).

Dr. Buchli has received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Basel in 1996 and served as Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Davis until 2001 before accepting a Research Assistant Professor position at the University of Oklahoma, Health Science Center. As a recognized authority in his field, Dr. Buchli has been published extensively by some of the leading international, peer-reviewed journals in the field including the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Biochemistry, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Cancer Letters, Journal of Immunology and others. Dr. Buchli has also been chosen to serve as reviewer for several journals as well as a judge of the work of others through his role as a graduate advisor. He is also the recipient of the Albert M. Kligman Award in Dermatology and The Journal Record’s On the Brink Innovator Award.

Dr Buchli is a co-inventor on multiple International and U.S. patents and 50+ publications.
